Google Photos 2025 recap being Gemini to find your highlights

Google Photos users can now access the year-end recap, a version of their own website-hosting version that matches Spotify wrapped. Like other annual reviews, Google Photos is back to let you see the past year in photos, offering memorable highlights plus graphics and photo effects and more.

US users also get access to a new feature powered by Google II, Gemini, which will show other top hobbies and highlights, the company said.

First introduced in 2024, Google Photos pressed to capitalize on the data review trend, which popopify by services like Spotify wrapped, and in the past Travel time apps like TimehopSee rank-.

However, this year, the Google Photos rollback is also a ground for Gemini, as the company releases AI in your photo archive to help surface more.

In addition, the recap will provide photo statistics from the year, like the number of photos, the highest, and, new for this year, the profit. The feature also allows you to hide specific people or photos. After doing so, you can then regenerate again for the updated version.

Photos and memories from the recap can be easily shared on social media and elsewhere. The new integration with Capcut will add a button at the end of the recap to export to photo and video editing, where you can use other Google photo templates to rearrange the template again.

There’s also a new Carousel at the end of the recap that contains short videos, photos, and collages designed to share to chat or social media. One option though is that you will share it back to your WhatsApp status.

If you don’t see the recap right away, you can ask Google Photos to generate it for you using the options at the top of the app. After viewing the RECAP, it will remain in the app for the month of December. To access it again during this time, you can find it behind the Carousel memories or checked in the Collection tab.
