Everything is fairthe latest Hulu series created by Ryan Murphy and with Kardashian, Close, Necy Nash, Naomi Watts i Sarah Paulsonreleased its first three episodes on November 4. The Guardian’s Television critic Lucy Mangan he immediately scoffed the show as a whole, giving it a rare zero-star review while writing that she “didn’t know it was still possible to make television this bad”.

“I assumed there was some sort of baseline, an inescapable basic know-how that now prevents any entry into the art form from falling below a certain standard. But I was wrong,” Mangan continued in his review, published on November 4. “Ryan Murphy’s new series, Everything is fair – starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts and Niecy Nash as the founders of an all-female law firm that provides divorce justice to incredibly wealthy but somewhat down-on-their-luck women under the blue skies of California – is terrible. Fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible.”

The show was also criticized The Times’ assistant television editor Ben Dowellwho described it as possibly “the worst TV drama ever”.

He continued: “Because Everything is fair (Disney+) is so bad, it’s not even nice. It thinks it’s a feminist fable about energetic lawyers who turn their backs on cruel rich men, but it’s actually a cheesy, sickening monument to the very greed, vanity, and avarice it supposedly targets. All written, it seems, by a little boy who couldn’t write ‘boom’ on a wall.”

Dowell added of Kardashian: “Is Kardashian (who, we’re told, planning to take the bar exams) make a compelling lawyer? No, she doesn’t. She acts like Genghis Khan for a peaceful liberal democracy, though of course the dialogue, a tsunami of clamorous cliche that drowns out this entire enterprise in the first five minutes, helps.”

Everything is fair is about a team of divorce lawyers who have their own practice in Los Angeles.

“Brave, brilliant and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets and shifting loyalties, both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. In a world where money talks and love is a battlefield, these women don’t just play the game, they change it,” reads the synopsis.
