According to the Ghana government, eight people, including the country’s defense and environment ministers, have been killed in a helicopter accident.
Defense Minister Edward Oma, Bomhah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad, was killed in an accident in the southern region of the country, President John Mahad, president Junius Debrah said on Wednesday.
“The President and the government increase the mourning and unity with the families of our accomplices and soldiers who are in the service of the country,” said Debrah.
Among the victims, Alji Mohammad Munir Limuna, Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Agriculture Minister and Vice President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party of the Mahalaya were Samuel Sarpong.
The Ghana Air Force had reported on Wednesday that a military helicopter had disappeared from Akra (local time and GMT) in the northwest of the capital (local time and GMT).
Debrah announced that the flags on half the mast would be flown.
The presidency said that Mahap had suspended all its official activities throughout the day.
