French prisoners escaped a bag of inmate partner, said officers


A man escaped French prison by hiding the bag of an Inmate with a jail after serving their sentence, told local media.

Prisoner’s service launched an investigation after the man was released from Lyon-Corbas prison in South-East France in Baisalas BFMTV.

He “exploits the liberty of his companion prisoner to hide himself in his luggage and exit”, says the Prisoner’s service at the AFP News Agency.

French media reported that the escaped prisoner served many sentences and re-evaluated in a case involved in organized crime.

A judicial investigation has also opened possible “escape as part of an organized gang and criminal conspiracy”, according to local media.

In the last month, Lyon Bar’s association expressed the alarm about the suffering of Lyon-Corbas prison.

Up to 1 May 2025, about 1,200 people are detained in prison, with capacity for 678 places, reported to BFMTV.
