The couple found out Chelsea was pregnant with Brandon shortly after deciding to use a surrogate to carry Max.

In August 2024, the family revealed that Max was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Guillain-Barré syndrome, which often means that the body’s immune system is attacking its own nerves. The child spent 8 days in the ICU and was unable to sit, stand or walk.

“These have been the hardest and scariest days of our lives,” the couple said in a joint statement on Instagram. “Maximus is such a special boy and has been fighting so hard. This is going to be a journey of recovery, but we have faith that he will make a full recovery.”
