French authorities opened an investigation into the killing of a far-right activist last week, the public prosecutor said Monday, a killing the government blamed in part on the hard left. Quentin Derank, 23, died after suffering severe brain injuries when he was attacked on Thursday by “at least six” people on the sidelines of a far-right protest against a left-wing politician speaking at Lyon university. FRANCE 24’s Karis Garland reports.
