“Forgotten” French farmers seek justice as they mobilize for fair trade, ecology and local produce




President Emmanuel Macron said France would vote against the European Union’s trade deal with South America’s Mercosur bloc, after farmers drove into Paris on tractors in a show of anger against the pact. However, EU countries are still expected to approve the bloc’s biggest free trade deal ever. Ms. Darnas expresses the sense of abandonment felt by many rural producers as they mobilize around environmental concerns, food sovereignty, and economic justice.
