Design tools FIGMA Launched new advanced AI editing features today, including the ability to remove and rotate objects and zoom in on images.
The company says these features will save the image hassle for other tools to edit and re-import. This adds to the model of the generation as well as creating images Nano is good for creating images, but users often need granular tools for editing that cannot be used without text.
FIGMA has added a lasso tool for selection. Now you can use it to select objects, remove them, or isolate them to move them. If you move around the object, the image will still retain other characteristics, such as background and color. Users can also select objects to adjust factors like light, shadow, color, or focus.
The company also brought expansion images for its design suite. This feature is useful when you are setting up a creative for a specific format and need to fill in a background or other details. For example, create a web banner or a mobile banner from a 1 × 1 image. This means that you save yourself from constantly editing the image and adjusting the elements inside.

Besides adding these features, FIGma brings together all image editing tools in one toolbar for easier access. You can select objects or parts of the image, change the background color, and add annotations or text using this toolbar. The company says removing the background is one of the most common actions on the platform, and that’s why it gets a prominent place in the new toolbar.
Competitors are rich Adobe and Canvas have been eliminating it for several years now. FIGMA is finally able to offer these features.
The company says the new image editing features are available on Figma and Image designs, with plans to make them available on FIKMA devices next year.
