End With Us author Colleen Hoover is opening up about the cancer diagnosis.
“Second to last day of radiation!” Hoover, 46, wrote about a photo of him in a hospital gown shared with her Instagram stories on Monday January 12. She noted that she was undergoing radiation therapy at Texas Oncology.
She added: “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @texas.oncology, but they’ve been pretty great. I hope you never need them, but I recommend them.”
Hoover has not publicly revealed what type of cancer she is battling, but has shared updates on her diagnosis in recent months.
In December 2025, Hoover announced via his Facebook page that he had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer, according to a screenshot posted on Instagram by the content creator. Katynck.
Hoover wrote that he spent much of 2025 on the set of the next one film adaptation of his novel Reminders of him in Canada and “had recurring health problems that I kept putting off until the film was finished.”

“When I got home, I found out I had cancer,” she said.
Hoover wrote that the cancer had been “removed by surgery” and that he would undergo more radiation.
“Although it felt huge and terrifying a little bit, and I had to lose it regretting you premiere, and some other big personal and professional moments, I wasn’t ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be,” he posted.
In October 2025, Hoover shared with her Instagram followers for whom promotional activities would be missed regretting youthe second of his books to be adapted for the big screen. The film, protagonist McKenna Grace, Mason Thames, Dave Franco i Allison Williamswas released that month.
“It’s very sad to miss the premiere and the release of this film, but very grateful to all the actors and the team that made it happen,” the author shared with her followers at the time.

Hoover shared another update on Friday, January 9. Facebook post, writing, “Today I got results from the geneticist that says my cancer is not from family genes. Nor is it from the two main causes of cancer, which are HPV and excess hormones.”
“That means it was more than likely environmental/lifestyle, which is lack of exercise, poor diet and stress,” said the author, who has found herself. in the crosshairs of a legal dispute between End With Us director and actor Justin Baldoni and the protagonist of the film, Blake Livelyfrom 2024.
“I’m happy and grateful to be alive, but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating,” she continued. “I hate it when science is right. If you see me at the gym, don’t even call me a good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I’m probably really mad about it.”
Hoover’s upcoming book-to-screen adaptation, Reminders of himwill be released on March 13. A film adaptation of truth starring Anne Hathaway will be released in October.
The author will also publish her latest novel, woman downon Tuesday, January 13.
