Emily Maynard’s husband Tyler Johnson is sharing his excitement about the latest addition to his family.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Jan. 23, Johnson posted a carousel of photos of Maynard’s daughter Ricky Hendrick20, and their new baby.
“We became grandparents today!! The feeling is indescribable 🤍🤍🤍. This is love,” Johnson, 39, captioned the post.
Along with photos of Johnson and Maynard, 39, holding their new granddaughter, the post included several photos of Hendrick at the hospital, including several showing Hendrick and Carter Dyer, who appears to be the child’s father. (Hendrick has never publicly revealed the identity of her baby’s father.)

In the comments section of Johnson’s post, Hendrick replied, “I love you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Johnson also posted a photo of the baby via her Instagram story, saying, “What a day. No words. Just every ounce of love I have for my baby and her baby.”
Hendrick confirmed the arrival of her first baby via Instagram on Friday, writing, “Best day ever,” along with a photo of her doctor showing her the newborn shortly after giving birth.
August 2025, Hendrick announced she was expecting her first child. She then posted an ultrasound photo via her Instagram story along with a quote from Love Island USA Huda Mustafá: “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it.” She later revealed that she was expecting a baby girl.
Hendrick also shared her mother’s reaction to the news of her pregnancy with his followers in September 2025.
After a fan asked Hendrick what his mother thought about Hendrick welcoming a baby “out of wedlock,” Maynard appeared in a video with Hendrick and quipped, “I can’t believe anyone would ever do that. Unforgivable.”
Immediately after this post, Hendrick shared another video via his Instagram story and was equally sarcastic when he talked about how his mother received the news of her pregnancy.
“My mom is really so devastated, she’s really upset,” Hendrick joked as he looked for the camera at the various items Maynard had bought, including a new crib and a book about grandmothers.
Hendrick continued, “She’s not excited at all about her having a baby. She’s actually angry. She’s really angry. She can’t even look at me. She can’t stand it at all. She’s angry.”
Emily Maynard had a powerful motherhood journey before and after her appearances on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The new mother is the only child of Maynard and her late fiance. Ricky Hendricka NASCAR driver who died in a plane crash in 2004 at age 24 when Maynard, then 19, was pregnant with Ricki.
After appearing in The Baccalaureate in 2011 and The bachelorette in 2012 and failing to find lasting love with her on-screen suitors, Maynard eventually married Johnson in 2014.
Maynard and Johnson welcomed five children together: Jennings, Gibson, Gatlin, Magnolia and Jones in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2022, respectively.
The bachelorette alum publicly shared his devotion to Johnson in a touching tribute posted via Instagram in April 2025.
“My dad. Tyler, you are the greatest gift to me in my life and I can’t believe I can call you mine,” Maynard wrote at the time. “You are truly the best. The best father. The best husband. The best person. We’ve been through so much together and I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for our family. I love you!”
