Emily in Paris star Ashley Park narrowly avoided a major wardrobe malfunction The Drew Barrymore Show.
Park, 34, appeared in the Thursday, December 11 edition of Drew Barrymore‘s daytime chat to promote the next season of his hit Netflix series. Barrymore, 50, praised Park’s brown Michael Kors dress, declaring: “This dress is to die for!”
The host called the look “stunning” and said she would “love to wear something like that”.
Park credited her stylist, Brad Goreskiand asked, “Should we negotiate?”
Barrymore, in a suit and tie, took Park’s idea in jest and took off her jacket. In turn, Park went to remove hers, then exclaimed, “Oh my god, it opened!”
Fortunately, the studio audience and viewers back home didn’t catch a glimpse of the malfunction as it happened. Park laughed as Barrymore joked, “My kind of show, by the way,” and adjusted her guest’s jacket.
Park reprises his role as mindy inside Emily in Paris‘ Fifth installment, which comes out on December 18. Earlier this month, the actress spoken exclusively Us Weekly on Mindy’s character arc and the new dynamic with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
“I would say the show never ceases to amaze me,” Park said we. “I didn’t see Mindy’s story lines coming in Season 5… I feel like I have to be on eight different genres of shows all in one. What more can you ask for? So I never know what to expect.”
She continued: “I’ve really stopped waiting. But also when we go to Venice for two weeks to film, it feels like a pinch. They really keep us on our toes.”
At the time, Netflix had released a trailer and new photos showing Emily (Lily Collins) embarking on a new chapter in Rome with Marcello (Eugene Franceschini) while Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) stayed in Paris. As for Mindy, well, a photo of her with Lucien captivated fans who I wonder what’s in store for the once platonic duo.
“What’s funny is that it seems like it came out of left field, but also, Lucien is one of my best friends on the show,” Park revealed. “So we were always laughing about how we like to hang out, but we don’t have scenes together. It was really fun this year.”
last month, we also caught up with Park at the Netflix House Philadelphia VIP Housewarming Party, where she marveled at how far the show and its cast have come since it premiered in October 2020.
“Me and Lily were talking about this the other day,” he said at the time. “We’ve known each other for half a decade and it’s interesting to step into the shoes of a character that you’re in a couple of days later, but you’ve grown as a person between six months and a year (between seasons).”
Park said Emily in Paris “It’s completely changed my life in terms of the paths and conversations I’m a part of. I can have conversations with people all over the world because Netflix is global. I’m so grateful.”
