Egypt’s workers face hard working conditions




Last year, Egypt has set a new record for exports of fruits and vegetables: almost 7 million tons, worth 6 billion euros, with 20 percent intended for Europe. According to the World Bank, agriculture is a sector that employs the largest share of women in the country: about 45 percent across the country and as much as 94 percent in Gornji Egypt. But in areas, working conditions of 5 million workers on farms are manual: no contracts, half of men’s salaries and falcare temperatures.
