Donald Trump takes aim at Seth Meyers and says making fun of him is illegal

He continued: “Once again he went, a truly deranged lunatic. Why is NBC wasting their time and money on a guy like this??? – NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHO IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!”

Meyers has yet to publicly respond to President Trump’s online rant, though it is one of many social media posts from the commander-in-chief aimed at various late-night talk show hosts.

After ABC briefly taken Jimmy Kimmel Live! out of the air after host Kimmel’s comments about the premature death of a right-wing influencer Charlie Kirkthe president openly celebrated the move, which appeared to be politically motivated after the chairman of the Trump administration’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carrthreatened ABC, Disney and Kimmel.

“Great news for America: The Jimmy Kimmel Show challenged ratings have been CANCELED,” Trump wrote on September 17. “Kudos to ABC for finally having the courage to do what needed to be done.”

The president then set his sights on the remaining late night hosts, Meyers and Jimmy Fallon.

“Kimmel has ZERO talent and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s even possible,” Trump continued in the same post. “That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, at Fake News NBC. Their ratings are horrible too. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

An hour before The return of the show on September 23President Trump took to Truth Social again to threaten ABC for bringing back Kimmel’s show.

“Can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Trump wrote at the time. “ABC told the White House his show was canceled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is gone and his ‘talent’ was never there. Why would they want to bring back someone who does so poorly, isn’t funny, and endangers the network by doing 99% positive Democrat trash.”

Kimmel it tripled its usual audience during his nightly return after his dubious suspension. According to an ABC press release, 6.26 million viewers tuned in to see him return to the stage on September 24. The host performed higher than normal in the 18-49 demographic, making the episode its “highest regularly scheduled episode in over 10 years”.
