president donald trump is weighing in on the high-profile demise of Nancy Guthriethe mother of today presenter of the show Savannah Guthrie.
“I think it’s terrible,” Trump, 79, he told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on Tuesday, February 3.
“I’ll call her later,” the 54-year-old Savannah president added. “I think it’s a terrible thing. I’ve always gotten along very well with Savannah. A very unusual situation, but we’ll find out…”
Tuesday before, the official White House Instagram The account shared a post encouraging anyone with information about Nancy’s disappearance to call 911.
“The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is ongoing and authorities are asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911,” the post said.
The White House added: “Our prayers are with the Guthrie family as we wait for Nancy to return home safely. 🙏”
Nancy, 84, is believed to have disappeared from her home outside Tucson, Arizona in the early hours of Sunday, February 1. She was last seen on Saturday, January 31, and was reported missing by a family member around noon on Sunday.
On Monday, February 2, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said the disappearance was being treated as a crime.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly On Monday, Nanos added: “We don’t want anyone to lose hope. But in the same sense, in the same way that there is hope, there are also things pointing to us that say, ‘This lady is in danger.'”
“It has to do with what was described to us about the scene,” he continued. “I’ve been doing this for 50 years. When something doesn’t feel right, it doesn’t feel right.”
Nanos said, “Something unusual happened in that house that made us say, ‘Wow…something’s wrong here.’ Something doesn’t add up.”
Savannah was absent Monday’s episode of today show following the disappearance of his mother, however, anchor Sheinelle Jones i Craig Melvin read a statement on his behalf.
“We want to get straight to what is a deeply personal story for us,” Melvin, 46, said at the top of the show. “Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona.”
Melvin read a statement from Savannah, which said, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our beloved mother. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 305-12490.
Savannah shared a emotional Instagram post late Monday night, asking fans to pray for Nancy.
She wrote: “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in kindness. We believe in humanity. Most of all, we believe in Him. Thank you for lifting up your prayers with ours for our dear mother, our dear Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Lift them up and believe with them and believe with them yours prayers at this very moment”.
“Take her home,” added Savannah.
