Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesiathe wife of Kayla Vessiais sharing an update after grieving the loss of her baby.
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla, 29, told the TikTok video shared on Friday, January 2. “Alex and I are just trying to get through it every day. Every day is so different for us and I’m really at a loss for words.”
Kayla and Alex, 29, announced in November 2025 that their “beautiful daughter went to heaven.”
“There are no words to describe the pain we are going through, but we have her in our hearts and we love every second we have spent with her,” the couple. captioned a statement on social media at that time “Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family came through for us and we couldn’t do it without them.”
As Alex and Kayla mourn their loss, he sat down completely the Dodgers’ World Series championship last fall (The Dodgers, who kept Vesias in their thoughts throughout the tournament, eventually took home the trophy over the Toronto Blue Jays.)
“I share a lot of Alex and I’s life here (and) it just felt right to come and say thank you,” Kayla said in her TikTok upload. “I’m so grateful that the community of you just expressed your support and love for us. It’s really brought us a lot of comfort during this.”
Kayla, wiping away tears, admitted she wasn’t sure how her future social media content would reflect her new normal.
“(I don’t know) what this content will look like in the future, but I want to share my journey,” Kayla said. “I don’t know how much I’m going to share, I don’t know the details, but I know I want to share if it can help someone going through the same thing to feel like they’re not alone.”

She continued: “I don’t want to go crying on the internet. I don’t think it’s fun for anybody. I think it’s going to be a good outlet to be able to talk and share, different from me and Alex talking (or us) talking to our therapist. It’s just a different outlet. Right now, I don’t have much to say, just that I’m so grateful for you and that you’ve shown us so much support and love during this time.”
According to Kayla, she wanted to post a short video to “check in” and “thank you” for all the messages of support.
“I don’t know what (my social content) will look like moving forward, but I did want to come in and check in, and the most important thing (was) to say thank you,” Kayla declared, advising her followers to “be ready for anything” during their own pregnancies.
“I was ready for whatever happened. I wasn’t ready not to take my baby home,” she said through tears. “I don’t know what the (new) year will bring. I’ll slowly get back here. I love you guys, and that’s all for now.”
