Dennis Rodman is proud of his estranged daughter, Trinity Rodman, who became the world’s highest-paid female soccer player when she signed an extension with NWSL’s Washington Spirit.
Dennis, 64, shared a post via his Instagram story on Thursday, January 22, of ESPN who announced the news, adds Drake i Nicki Minajthe song from “Make Me Proud”.
“You’re amazing girl and all I can say is I’m so, I’m so, I’m so, so proud of you,” read the lyrics, which Dennis included in the post.

Trinity, 23, and the Spirit agreed to a three-year extension that will pay him more than $2 million annually, according to ESPN.
“I have made the DMV my home and the Spirit my family, and I knew this was where I wanted to enter the next chapter of my career,” Trinity said in a news release. “I’m proud of what we’ve built since my rookie season and I’m excited about where this club is going. We’re chasing championships and raising the bar, and I can’t wait to keep doing it with my teammates and the best fans in the NWSL.”

As Trinity’s professional career has blossomed and led her to the U.S. Women’s National Team, her relationship with her father, a five-time NBA champion, has been turbulent at best.

Trinity and Dennis have apparently always had a difficult relationship, going long periods without communication. In a December 2024 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Trinity explained that she did not consider Dennis is going to be “a dad” to her
“Perhaps by blood, but nothing else,” he said. “I don’t mean that negatively, but more realistically. We’ve tried to be that foundation and be the good people around him. Because we never really asked for anything unless we really needed to. … He’s never understood that people might just want to be around him and just want to make him happy.”
He added that Dennis’ party lifestyle, which he was famous for in his playing days, had a direct impact on her and his brother DJthe relationship with him. “We tried to live with him, but he parties 24/7. He brings random dogs,” she said. “My mother did not want, she was strong enough to face it because even today, I still think that my father has not loved anyone after my mother. I think that my mother only saw the situation of:” We love each other. It’s not going to work,” or “My kids, I can’t have them watching like this, and you’re embarrassing me partying like this.”
Still, Trinity said she answers the phone when he calls.
“Now I answer the phone because of my conscience. If something happens, God forbid, I want to know that I did it,” he said. “Or if I needed to hear my voice before anything happened. That’s why I answer the phone, not for me.”
