Dax Shepard shared a wild engagement with her 11-year-old daughter, Delta.
“Delta was saying she can’t wait to have a baby,” Shepard, 51, said during the Monday, Jan. 5, episode. “Armchair expert” podcast.. “I said, ‘When do you think you’re going to have your first child, when you’re 18?’ I want to support anything.”
When her daughter answered “no”, Shepard guessed that Delta would have her first child between the ages of 35 and 45.
“I said, ‘If you want, we’ll freeze your eggs when you’re 18.’ I’ll pay to have your eggs frozen so you don’t have to think about it,” the actor continued. Shepard podcast cohost Monica Padman praised his “beautiful” gesture.

According to Shepard, his daughter “thinks the 20s” is the perfect age to start having children, but both he and Padman thought Delta would “underestimate” the fun that’s being had at that age.
“It’s not going to be time for her to be home every night with a kid,” Shepard said.
Shepard shares Delta and their 12-year-old daughter Lincoln with his wife Kristen Bell.
Both Shepard and Bell, 45, have been candid about their parenting styles in various interviews over the years. Shepard’s podcast has also given him a platform to talk about fatherhood.

The actor confessed that he “won’t love to see a 25-year-old boy in boxers in my kitchen” if girls have grown-up “sleepovers” with their partners as they get older. “I totally swear in front of my kids,” the actor said during a July 2025 episode of his podcast. “They’re allowed to swear, not with impunity, but when they ask and they land it, and it’s at home and not out at a restaurant, that’s fine.”
She added: “My defense is that I just told the girls, like, ‘Hey, these are noises coming out of your mouth and you assign what they mean to you.’
Shepard explained that he thinks this way, “there’s no way” he’s introducing the girls to cursing.
