Thomas Frank has confirmed that Tottenham duo Dad Spence and Mickey van de Ven have apologized for ignoring their full-time head coach following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Chelsea.
Spurs were booed at full-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having recorded their lowest kG (expected goals) figure of 0.05 since Opta records began in the 2012-13 campaign, before Frank took to his players on the pitch.

Stand-in captain Van de Ven and Spence headed for the tunnel and despite Frank seemingly telling them to thank the home side’s support, they passed the Denmark boss who stared in their direction before turning to applaud the crowd.
Ski Sports News understands that Frank and Spence spoke after the game and their interaction on the field at fulltime was merely a sign of their frustration at the loss and nothing more.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against FC Copenhagen, Frank gave more details on the situation.
“Mickey and Jed came into my office yesterday and just said they wanted to apologize for the situation. They didn’t want it to look bad or disrespectful,” he said.
“That was not their intention, neither for me, nor for the team, nor for the club. They were just frustrated with the performance, the loss and the whistles during the game.”
