Crystal Minkoff shares insight into Ashley Tisdale’s mommy group drama

People online began linking Minkoff to Tisdale after the then-Bravo star revealed that she lost “14 friends” after dating her. RHOBA debut in 2021.

“What I found interesting is that Ashley’s story was that she left the group, and my story is (that) I didn’t leave the group,” Minkoff recalled. “I did the show and they just said, I did a whole episode about it, so it doesn’t count, they all went against me and dropped me.”

Minkoff explained on Monday’s episode of the podcast that Tisdale is “getting all the heat” because she’s a “super celebrity group,” which includes Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore i Meghan Trainoramong others. A representative for Tisdale denied speculation that the essay was about A-listers, but Minkoff isn’t convinced.

“I just wonder, what was he thinking was going to happen?” Minkoff said of Tisdale. “This is not my group. I only know them all because we were all the same in preschool. I remember there (were) problems then. Someone was not included.”

Minkoff added, “I think if that was happening to him, he wasn’t misreading it. You know, if you’re getting kicked out.”

Minkoff revealed that she “texted” one of the alleged toxic mothers.

“I said, ‘I have to know what’s going on.’ They said, ‘It’s so ironic that we’re the toxic ones and she’s alone.’ RHOBA he continued “I have mixed feelings about it, because I know this group. I don’t know Ashley at all. I’ve met Ashley a couple of times, but I don’t know her at all.”

Minkoff noted that Tisdale is getting “a lot of crap right now” because people like Duff are “so beloved” in Hollywood.

“Ashley is getting 90 percent hate,” Minkoff told listeners. “I kept mine private. I didn’t want anyone to know. It all came from other sources.”

Minkoff further explained that she would “feel connected” to Tisdale’s side, even if she “didn’t know the players” in the situation.

“I went through it. I lived it. So my initial (feeling) is I feel all over the place, because I know the group. I’ll say, someone like Hillary, I’ve known her for 10 years. Super sweet,” he said. “I don’t see her as a bad girl like that, but she’s dynamic. So, I feel for Ashley.”
