Law enforcement issued a reminder to members of the media, urging journalists and producers not to order food for Nancy Guthrieis home amid the ongoing investigation into her disappearance.
“We can’t believe we have to say this, but media on scene: Please do not order food delivery to a crime scene address,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department wrote. via X on Tuesday, February 10. “This interferes with an active investigation. Please respect private property laws as well. Thank you.”
Earlier Tuesday, a video of a pizza delivery man arriving at Guthrie’s home to drop off a food order circulated online. According to the local journalist Ford Hatchettanother member of the media reportedly ordered the pizza delivered to the property.
“I’ve never seen anything like this. A Domino’s delivery driver just walked up to Nancy Guthrie’s front door trying to deliver a pizza,” Hatchett. he tweeted along with a video of the delivery man with a handbag. “Out now. You’d think it was meant for someone in the media on the street.”
On February 1, Nancy, the mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing after failing to attend her church’s virtual worship service. Nancy, 84, was last seen by loved ones at a family dinner the night before.
“We can confirm this is a missing persons case and the family is working closely with local law enforcement,” the Guthrie family, which includes Savannah as well as siblings Annie and Camron Guthrie, said in a statement to NBC News, adding that they are grateful for the “outreach, thoughts and prayers” they have received.
Since her mother’s disappearance, Savannah, 54, and her siblings have posted several emotional videos amid the search. Savannah has been away from the Today show since her mother disappeared, traveling and staying in Arizona with her siblings as the search continues.
Although there have been no confirmed suspects, the The FBI released photographs i videos of a potential suspect in connection with the ongoing criminal investigation. The unidentified individual could be seen in Nancy’s driveway donning a ski mask while appearing to cover Nancy’s doorbell security camera before taking it completely apart.
“New footage in search of Nancy Guthrie,” read a tweet from the FBI director Kash Patel on tuesday “Over the past eight days, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, damaged or inaccessible due to various factors, including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located on back-end systems.”
The post continued: “Working with our partners: As of this morning, law enforcement has discovered this new previously inaccessible footage showing an armed individual who appears to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance.”
Savannah reacted to the images that same day, re-sharing the photos and asking for any potential clues to the person’s identity.
