Chris Eubank Jr has admitted he is hampered by “health issues” and doesn’t know when he will box again.
After defeating Conor Benn in their first fight in April, Eubank lost the rematch last month, performing at a greatly reduced work rate the second time around and suffering two knockdowns in the final round.
Eubank, now 36, has previously alluded to the issues that plagued him leading up to the contest, and has now publicly stated: “I’ve had a lot of health issues over the last year and yeah, it all finally caught up with me last month.
Although he wants to fight again, he can’t say when that will be. However, he promised that he would eventually return.

“I won’t box again until I’m back to 100 percent and I don’t know when that will be,” he announced on social media.
“But one thing’s for sure,” he added, “for the fans that have supported me through it all, I’ll do everything in my power to bring back the old me one day.”
‘Been Through Hell and Back’
Speaking at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the second leg, Eubank Jr said: “I went through hell and back to get here.
“I honestly thought that regardless of the issues that I was dealing with, I was going to be able to come in and win, use my boxing skills, use what you saw in that first fight to beat Conor Benn.”

He added: “From that first round I realized I was wrong. But that’s okay, I’m a fighter, that’s what I do. Regardless of the dangers and the risk, we go to war. That’s what we do. I did my best.
“Conor Ben fought like hell, he played a great performance, he did everything that was asked of him and I congratulate him on his performance.”
But Eubank noted, “You saw what I was in there.
“I thought when those bright lights hit and that round went by, I was in, I was going to find something. And I tried. I tried really hard. But it didn’t.”
