BEIJING – China plans to send a delegation to India’s upcoming AI summit in the latest sign of improving ties between the two neighbors, CNBC has reported.
The vice-minister of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology will lead the delegation, said George Chen, partner and co-chairman of Digital Experience at consulting firm The Asia Group, citing conversations with his government contacts. He said that the Indian embassy in Beijing has contacted China to process the visas.
The Asia group frequently engages with Chinese policymakers on the development of AI regulation.
This is the first public confirmation that China will participate in the event, scheduled for February 16-20 in New Delhi. In late December, Chinese state media quoted Indian media as saying that New Delhi He sent an official invitation to Beijing Attend the AI Impact Summit.
