Chicago PD’s Tracy Spiridakos and Jesse Lee Soffer return after Upstead split

“I decided at the end of my sixth season (aka season 10 of the show),” he told Variety in May 2024. “That’s when I reached out to (showrunner) Gwen (Sigan) and everyone at Wolf to let them know I just wanted to do one more year.”

Spiridakos said the decision was “very, very hard”, adding: “I was just curious about what was in it for me and I wanted to change it, and that was it.”

Halstead and Upton finally they divorced because of their actors respective exits. Despite the sad on-screen ending, Spiridakos posted a sweet message after Soffer’s exit.

“I guess the word is out. Jesse, what can I say, you’re the best. Thank you for your kindness, your guidance and your friendship,” Spiridakos wrote via Instagram in 2022. “You’re the best on-screen husband a girl could ask for. I’ll miss being on set with you every day. I can’t wait for what the next world has in store.”

Since then, Spiridakos and Soffer have sparked romance rumors, but have chosen to remain tight-lipped about their relationship status. Spiridakos will next star on USA Network Anna Pigeon.

Soffer, meanwhile, remained in the world of Dick Wolf afterward scoring a role as Wes on FBI: International.
