Tracy Spiridakos i Jesse Lee Soffer they finally come back Chicago P.D after their respective departures led to The shocking separation of Upton and Halstead.
NBC announced Wednesday, Feb. 4, that Spiridakos, 37, and Soffer, 41, will reunite in a three-parter. A Chicago special crossover According to the synopsis for the Wednesday, March 4 episode, Upton “returns to his old stomping grounds, but this time on the federal level as an FBI special agent.” She “joins her old PD allies after a drug task force case out of her Detroit field office brings her back to Chicago.”
Halstead, meanwhile, “took a job in the military in Bolivia, tracking drug cartel targets.” More recently, he “has been deeply undercover which leads him on a path to the very case Upton is investigating.”
The next episode marks Soffer’s first return to the screen since his departure during season 10. The actor has since returned to direct three episodes of Chicago P.D while Spiridakos left the show in season 11.

“I decided at the end of my sixth season (aka season 10 of the show),” he told Variety in May 2024. “That’s when I reached out to (showrunner) Gwen (Sigan) and everyone at Wolf to let them know I just wanted to do one more year.”
Spiridakos said the decision was “very, very hard”, adding: “I was just curious about what was in it for me and I wanted to change it, and that was it.”
Halstead and Upton finally they divorced because of their actors respective exits. Despite the sad on-screen ending, Spiridakos posted a sweet message after Soffer’s exit.

Thank you for your kindness, your guidance and your friendship,” Spiridakos wrote via Instagram in 2022. “You’re the best on-screen husband a girl could ask for. I’ll miss being on set with you every day. I can’t wait for what the next world has in store.”
Since then, Spiridakos and Soffer have sparked romance rumors, but have chosen to remain tight-lipped about their relationship status. Spiridakos will next star on USA Network Anna Pigeon.
Soffer, meanwhile, remained in the world of Dick Wolf afterward scoring a role as Wes on FBI: International.
