Edinburgh came back in the second half to claim a hard-fought 26-24 victory over Gloucester in the Champions Cup and consign the visitors to a fifth successive defeat.
It took the hosts three minutes to take the lead when Josh Hathaway ran over for the first points, and George Barton’s penalty just over 10 minutes later put Gloucester eight points clear.
Edinburgh hit back with their first try in the 17th minute thanks to a brilliant solo effort from Ben Vellacott to reduce the deficit to three points which was quickly canceled out by Burton’s second penalty of the half.
Gloucester finished the half brilliantly with their second try of the match as Charlie Atkinson chased down a shot and managed to get it over the white before it bounced out of play.
Edinburgh got back into the game through Evan Ashman, but Burton’s third penalty brought Gloucester’s lead to nine.
After the break, Liam McConnell got under the posts to reduce the deficit to two and they took the lead with a penalty, while Gloucester’s Atkinson was booked – Barton’s fourth penalty was not enough to stop them.

Bath remain top of pool two after a comfortable win at Castro
Bath scored three tries in each half as they earned a convincing 43-20 victory over Castres to stay top of Group Two in the Champions Cup.
