A mayor in the Philippines survived a rocket launcher attack on his car in broad daylight.
CCTV footage captured the moment when one of the attackers shot at the SUV that mayor Akmad Mitra Ampatuan was riding in, causing an explosion.
Ampatuan’s car was found to have stopped for a moment and sped off after the impact.
The mayor survived the grenade attack on Sunday, the Municipality of Shariff Aguak said in a Facebook post, but according to GMA News in the Philippines, two of his security guards were injured.
At least three attackers were killed by the police, according to media sources.
The latest attack marks the fourth attempted ambush against Ampatuan in recent years.
