“Casualties expected to rise” in Pakistan after deadly suicide attack on mosque

A suicide bomber killed at least 31 people and wounded nearly 170 during Friday prayers at a Shiite mosque in Islamabad, officials said, in the deadliest such attack in the capital in a decade. Officials suspect that a branch of the Taliban may be behind the attack, although this has not been confirmed. The bombing comes as Uzbek officials are visiting the country and Pakistani forces are conducting training operations in the region, FRANCE 24’s Hamza Azhar reports.
