Candace Cameron Bure opened to tell her husband Valery Bure suffered from an eating disorder.
Cameron Bure, 49, got emotional as she opened up about her battle with bulimia during the Tuesday, Feb. 10, episode of his podcast. While chatting with Bachelor Nation’s Maddie Prewettthe actress recalled once having to “confess” something and feeling “scared” to do so.
“The easiest thing that comes to mind is being bulimic and hiding it for so long and for so many years,” she explained. “And live with my husband and hiding it from him – We are in the same house.
“The day I said, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I don’t want to do it anymore.’ I get tears in my eyes (thinking about it). It’s so embarrassing,” he continued.
The Full House alum added: “It makes you want to hide and isolate yourself, but the bravest thing you can do is admit it.”
When she decided to tell Bure, 51, what was going on, she felt nervous.
“I took a deep breath and walked over to him, and then I said, ‘Can you sit down?’ I have to tell you something,'” she recalled, noting that she felt “relief” afterwards. “I have an amazing husband. I was met with so much compassion. I don’t know why I thought that if I ever told anyone, they’d say, “How dare you? How dare you treat your body like that? You’re gross.”
Through tears, Cameron Bure explained her husband hugged her and asked him how he could help her. “It felt like a relief,” he said. “And the ability to take the next step forward.”

Later in the episode, Prewett, 29, explained that she’s not defined by her “scars” and asked Cameron Bure if she’s ever reminded of her past or if she’s “ashamed” to drag it on.
“Sure, and for me, this sin of my life, has never left me,” he replied, referring to her eating disorder. “It’s become a lot easier to fight. I know when those thoughts come into my mind, I know how to handle it and how to avoid them because it’s not a part of my life anymore and I don’t want it to be a part of my life.”
He added: “I chose not to, but that doesn’t mean those thoughts haven’t crossed my mind. I have the power to kill it.”
Cameron Bure previously opened up about suffering from bulimia during an episode of her podcast in July 2025. At the time, she shared that she “developed an eating disorder when (she) was 18.”
“It was a binge and a purge. I’m bulimic. And I still say I’m bulimic,” she shared, noting that the thoughts “never leave her.”
“He had thicker cheeks and arms and he was like a normal 12-year-old, you know? He was really a normal 12-year-old, but he had a little more fat than other kids on TV,” she said.
