Brie “Bella” Garcia has returned to the wrestling ring for a surprise WWE showdown with her twin sister, Nikki Garciabeside him
“Brie Bella is back,” an announcer declared during the female Royal Rumble on Saturday, Jan. 31, as Brie, 42, hit the ring wearing a red latex jumpsuit. “What a shock.”
Brie, who participated for the last time Royal Rumble in 2022, he kicked during combat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After defeating several of her competitors, Nikki, also 42, entered the ring for a shot at glory. The two sisters, however, were eventually eliminated by Tab legend.
Brie and Nikki retired at the same time in 2023, also deciding to leave behind their “Bella Twins” stage name.
“Today we are officially from here on out, the Garcia twins,” Nikki announced on a March 2023 episode of their joint podcast. “We’re moms, we’re entrepreneurs, we’re executive producers, we’re putting on shows. When our contract came with WWE, we all knew we just had to step into this new chapter.”
Nikki shares son Matteo, 5, with ex-husband Artem Chigventsevwhile Brie and her husband Bryan Danielson have two children of their own. The sisters’ retirement also provided an opportunity for Brie to spread her creative and career-oriented wings outside of the ring.
“We were just looking forward to a new chapter in our lives and knew that in doing so we had to get back to who we were and who we are: the Garcia twins,” Brie. explained exclusively Us Weekly in May 2023. “I think, for us, the Bella Twins were really a character in WWE. Now, we were attached to them outside of the ring because we were using the name a lot, but at the end of the day, it was a big part of WWE.”
She continued, “Not only has it been freeing and it feels like we’ve really just gained power, but it’s almost like we can do whatever we want without asking permission. It’s like we can grow and no one is going to hold us back.”
Despite being happy to explore life outside of WWE, Brie and Nikki were open to the idea of their children following in their wrestling footsteps.
“I think they would make a pretty bada** tag team,” Nikki he said we in May 2024 de Matteo joining forces with Brie’s 5-year-old son, Buddy, in the line ring. “He’s the fearless side of me. I literally have to follow him everywhere because he just jumps off things. He keeps going with things. He’s fearless.”
According to Brie, her son is also scared at home.
“I see (Buddy) and I’m like, oh my God, he’s his dad and me, the way he has my energy and the way he’s going to do certain things,” Brie said. we in 2024. “But he’s my husband’s mini-me and the way he’s going to fight and just do things. He put me in this thing the other day and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s a guillotine. It doesn’t allow us to do that.’ It’s just unbelievable.”
Nikki later did his solo return to WWE at the Women’s Royal Rumble in February 2025.
