Brendan Rodgers has resigned as Celtic manager, the club have confirmed.

A statement from Celtic on Monday evening read: “Celtic Football Club can confirm that Football Manager Brendan Rodgers has today tendered his resignation. The club has accepted this and Brendan will leave his role with immediate effect.”

“The club appreciates Brendan’s contribution to Celtic during his two very successful spells at the club.”

“Brendan leaves Celtic with our gratitude for the role he played during the club’s period of continued success and we wish him continued success in the future.”

“The process of appointing a new permanent manager is ongoing and the club will inform fans of this as soon as possible.”
