Hilary Duff and sister Hayley Duff for years they have been fighting – and sometimes avoiding – rumors of a feud.
The Texas-born siblings grew up in the spotlight together after moving to Los Angeles with their mother in 1993.

Meanwhile, Haylie became known for her roles in 7th Heaven, Lizzie McGuire i Napoleon Dynamiteas well as its own cooking program, The kitchen of the real girl. The actress and her younger sister collaborated on a handful of occasions during the 2000s, including the 2006 film Material Girls and their 2004 hit “Our Lips Are Sealed.”

Although Hilary and Haylie once seemed close, they seemed to stop spending time together around 2019, leaving fans wondering what happened between them.

Hilary and Haylie were last photographed together in public in 2019, according to multiple reports. Also, they seem to have stopped interacting with each other on social media. In 2019, rumors emerged that Haylie skipped Hilary’s wedding Matthew Butbut several reports of the time affirmed that he did attend the nuptials.
In 2024, TwoMe claimed that Hilary and Haylie had a falling out over Koma and how she didn’t get along with Haylie’s fiance, Matthew Rosenberg.

During a red carpet appearance in May 2025, Haylie reflected on her early career and working with Hilary on Material Girlsin addition to providing voices for The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

“Yes, I was. You mean, 20 years ago?” she said Entertainment tonight of singing for the character Isabelle, played by Hilary along with the main character Lizzie in the film. “Maybe one day (my daughter Ryan) will sit and watch Material Girls and get a kick out of it.”
Hilary Duff Aims for ‘Family Drama’
Hilary hinted at alleged “family drama” in a November 2025 interview with Rolling Stonerevealing that he planned to unpack things in his upcoming music.
“I’m ready to fill in the gaps and share with people and connect with them on the level of now,” he told the network. “My fans have been through a lot of the same things, whether it’s complicated relationships, anxiety, raising kids, divorce, trying to find adulthood (or) family drama.”
Hilary didn’t go into any detail.
Haylie Duff ‘Likes’ Ashley Tisdale’s ‘Toxic Mom Squad’ Story
Hilary came into office in early January 2026 when Ashley Tisdale published an essay by the cut about leaving her “toxic mom group” behind. While Tisdale didn’t name anyone in the essay, she was previously known to spend time with a group of moms that included Hilary, as well as Mandy Moore i Meghan Trainor.
Haylie appeared alongside Tisdale in the drama when she “liked” the Disney Channel alum’s Instagram post promoting the storyline.

During her January 2026 concert in London as part of her Small rooms, big nerves spin, Hilary premiered his song “We Dont Talk” which fans believe is about Haylie.
“I don’t know when it happened / Not even sure what it was,” he sang. “Because we come from the same house, from the same blood.”
In the chorus, Hilary sings, “People ask me how you’re doing / I mean amazing, but the truth is, I don’t know / What I always end up saying is like… We don’t talk, we don’t talk / We don’t talk about anything anymore.”
Hilary also alluded to what might have happened between her and Haylie in a verse.
“And if it’s because you’re jealous / God knows I’d sell it all, then I’d break your bigger half… Let’s have it out / I’ll listen to you, you’ll listen to me on the couch / Back to how we were as kids / Let’s break it up / So sick of being so sad / How can’t we talk about it.”
Haylie has yet to address Hilary’s new song or her alleged fight with her sister.
