Although the original Breaking Amish ended in 2014, fans have remained interested in the lives of the cast over the years.
TLC’s show, which aired in 2012, initially followed the lives of five Anabaptist young adults: Kate Stoltz, Jeremiah Raber, Abe Schmucker, Rebecca Schmucker i Sabrina Burkholder – when they moved to New York City to decide whether they wanted to get out of their community or eventually come home.
The original cast returned for a second season in 2013, however, the series returned with an all-new cast for Breaking Amish: Los Angeles later that year. Season 4, as it was called Breaking Amish: Brooklynissued in 2014.
While the Breaking Amish the series ended in 2014, a spin-off show featuring the original cast, Back to Amishpremiered on TLC that same year. Back to Amish it aired for seven seasons until May 2023.

Kate Stoltz

While on the show, Stoltz decided to stay in New York City to pursue a career in modeling and fashion design. In 2015, Stoltz started her own fashion line called Kate Stoltz.
Jeremiah Raber

Raber returned to the franchise for 2014 Back to Amish and remained part of the main cast for seven seasons. He was previously married to Carmela Méndez Raber from 2016 to 2022. (Jeremies shares three children from a previous marriage with Naomi Stutzman.)
Since the end of Back to AmishJeremiah has been dealing with serious health issues, which he has continued to talk about on social media.
“Hopefully I’ll be at the doctor soon and get checked out,” Raber shared in one TikTok video in March 2024, thanking his followers for donating “enough money to go to the doctor for (his) heart problem” and that he “appreciates it” more than they know.
In April 2024, Weekly InTouch reported that Raber spent two days in the hospital for heart problems and diabetic ketoacidosis. (The Cleveland Clinic describes diabetic ketoacidosis as “a life-threatening complication of diabetes and undiagnosed type 1 diabetes.”
In late 2025, Raber revealed on social media that he was in the hospital “Possible liver failure” and was “waiting to be life fled to another hospital.”
Sabrina Burkholder

Courtesy of Sabrina Burkholder/InstagramBurkholder, who was the only Mennonite on the TLC show, starred in two seasons of the original Breaking Amish before returning to the franchise for 2014 Back to Amish from seasons 1 to 3 and then from seasons 5 to 7. Burkholder struggled with drug addiction after the original series ended.
In 2018, Burkholder suffered a near-fatal heroin overdose and has been sober ever since.
“People say I don’t look like the same person, that’s because I’m not,” he explained in June 2021. Instagram post. “Jesus did a job and I’m so thankful for sobriety.”
After the end of Return to Amish, Burkholder continues to live a quiet life with his six children in Pennsylvania. She shares daughters Oakley and Ariana from a previous relationship, son Zekiah and daughters Skylar and Kalani with ex-boyfriend Jethro Nolt and the son Aro with the groom scottie.
Rebecca Byler-Schmucker and Abe Schmucker

They went on to appear Back to Amish in 2014, however, they finally left the show in 2017 to live a private life with their family in Pennsylvania. The couple share daughter Malika, as well as Rebecca’s daughter Kayla from a previous relationship.
Rebecca and Abe celebrated their 12th anniversary in September 2024.
“Happy 12th birthday babe! I’m so thankful for you,” Rebecca wrote via Instagram alongside several photos of her and Abe.
Mary Schmucker

In 2022, Mary was diagnosed with colon cancer. she He died in March 2025 after the complications of the disease. Maria was 65 years old.
