Kelly Clarksonis ex -husband, Brandon BlackstockHe fought cancer for three years before his death at the age of 48.
“It is very sad that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died,” a family representative said in a statement to Use weekly On Thursday, August 7. “Brandon fought cancer for more than three years.”
The message, which did not spread the type of cancer that Blackstock had diagnosed with him, said that Blackstock “died peacefully” and was “surrounded by the family.”
“We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
One day before the death of Blackstock, Clarkson, 43, shared in a statement that he had postponed his residence of Las Vegas.
“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the rest of the dates of August’s study session in Las Vegas,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, August 6. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at that time I have to be completely present for them.”

Clarkson: his former director of whom was Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock – And Brandon started out in 2012 before tieing the knot the following year. Both Twosome welcomed daughter River and son Remington June 2014 and April 2016, respectively. (Brandon was also the father of Daughter Savannah and son Seth, who hosted in 2002 and 2006 with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. Brandon and Ashworth were married from 2001 to 2012.)
After almost seven years of marriage, Clarkson presented Brandon’s divorce by 2020. American idol Alum and Blackstock completed their procedures in 2022, and Clarkson received the primary custody of his two children.
Months before Brandon’s death, Clarkson alluded to everything that has faced the closed doors Episode of his talks program, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“For 1,000 episodes, we laughed together, we cried together with beautiful stories, we sang together with some people, danced together, celebrate and compete together,” he said during a March episode of his homonymous program. “I have lost, alone, very much, and along the way, we have found comfort to each other. And looking back, we are incredibly proud of what we have built and the community we have created.”
