Bournemouth 0:1 Everton

Jack Grealish’s deflected effort earned Everton a narrow 1-0 win against Bournemouth to end their unbeaten run at the Vitality Stadium.

In a game that lacked quality and edge in the final third, luck was needed to make the difference.

After cutting in from the left, the Manchester City loanee slipped as he shot wide and the ball deflected off Bafode Diakita before flying into the far corner.

A poor goal to end a scrappy affair which could easily have turned in the home side’s favor after Eli Junior Croupy’s fine first-half opener was ruled out for a solid offside.

A late goal in the 78th minute now extends Bournemouth’s Premier League winless run to five games, three days after they squandered a two-goal lead against Sunderland to lose 3-2 away from home.

Meanwhile, Everton moved into the top half of the table and are level on points with Merseyside rivals Liverpool as a result of their first league win away to the Cherries, making it three wins in their last four top-flight matches.
