Boston Blue finally explained how Donnie WahlbergDanny will be moving from New York, but what does that mean for his future with Maria Baez after their time together in Blue blood?
The Friday, October 24 episode of the CBS spin-off featured Danny having a conversation with his son Sean (Mika Amonsen) about his plans for the future, saying, “I’ve been thinking about what you said: finally starting to feel like a Reagan. Being a Reagan means you always have someone in the department who has your back and you don’t. It’s like you said, you’re the only Reagan in Boston, but you don’t have to be.”
Danny revealed that he already took steps to move to Boston.
“I’m trying to say that we haven’t been as close as we should have been over the last few years. Maybe we can work on this and I can help you at the same time,” he continued. “I’m saying maybe I can transfer to Boston PD.”
Sean, however, asked if Danny could leave his life in New York, including girlfriend Baez (Marisa Ramirez).
“Maria and I will figure it out. And the family understands,” Danny noted at the end of the episode. “I did (talk to them) and they agreed with me. So you’re kind of stuck with me, but only if you want to.”
Danny’s trip to New York was featured on CBS Blue bloodwhich ran from 2010 to 2024. The last time the public saw Danny, he was taking some much-needed advice from his grandfather Henry (Only for Caria) about his personal life, including his feelings for his professional partner Maria Baez (Ramírez).

“I always told you not to take your work home,” Henry told Danny at the end of the 2024 series, adding that “the problem now is you don’t have anyone to take it home to.” Henry told Danny to promise that he would “find that someone” after his case.
Danny was then seen asking Baez out on a date, saying, “You want to grab a pizza?”
Boston Bluewhich premiered earlier this month, began with Danny visiting Boston after Sean ended up in a coma. Before traveling to another state, Danny’s life in New York included a cameo from Ramirez, 48.
“You always have to worry about the long distance,” Ramirez said exclusively Us Weekly in front of her Boston Blue cameo about Baez and Danny’s future. “You never know what will happen. Always worry.”
Ramírez acknowledged that Baez and daughter Elena “They could move to Boston no problem,” but should they?
“To me, it’s not that fun to see a couple that happy. It’s fun when there’s ups and downs and arguments and kind of coming back together,” she explained. “It’s funnier to see some kind of upheaval in relationships, because it makes it so much sweeter when it works out and they get together.”
According to Ramirez, fans can expect “a little bit of pushing and pulling and back and forth until something happens” to get them to find a better solution.
“I hope he’s in more than one scene this whole season, right?” she teased. “I just think, honestly, you’ll just have to see. But you still worry about whether or not the long-distance thing will work.”
Boston Blue airs Fridays on CBS at 10pm ET.
