Blake Lively shouted an alleged “weird” comment. Justin Baldoni about sleeping with your kids in recently posted text messages with Jenny Slate.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 20, Slate, 43, apologized to him End With Us costar Lively, 38, after the actress made what he called an “inappropriate” joke.
“I’m really, really sorry I made that remark about our tiny room in our airbnb. I think back now, referring to it as being ‘bad for sex’ and just realizing that’s an inappropriate thing to say,” Slate wrote, but allegedly on May 29, 2023. “I hope you know that I know it was the place to sleep, and now you know it too. a hunger, that must seem like such a nasty judgment, I’m sorry, I have no judgment. I’m sure it looked that way.
Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds – who share James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 2, previously shared a glimpse of their sleeping situation.
“Our kids can’t even go to sleep unless they’re in our bed,” Reynolds, 49, said during a July 2024 episode. “Not skinny, but not fat” podcast “As much as I’d love to lie down and fall asleep normally, I’m holding back.”
According to court documents, Lively responded to Slate saying it was “not necessary” to apologize. Instead, it was Baldoni’s comments that seemed to bother her.

And there’s a safety with women that isn’t there with men,” Lively allegedly wrote. “You were stuck with your living situation and you had to ask for something better. So making a casual joke about sex was probably an unconscious way of playing to your audience. If the man who could authorize the move could empathize, then you and your family would be out of there. It shows.”
Lively continued, “Also, at this point, it wasn’t actually you who was weird. It was JB. You didn’t know we all slept in the bed together. He did. And when you said that, he was like, ‘Oh yeah, terrible for sex.’ It was so weird that he said that instead of laughing like I did.”
According to Lively, Baldoni, 41, “is always trying to get them to like her, so joining makes sense for him.”
“It was still something I ticked off from him,” he added. “Because I know we all sleep in the same bed, obviously.”

In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her.
Baldoni’s attorney addressed the actress’ “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” allegations in a statement to westating that he was trying to “fix his negative reputation” and “reform a narrative” about the film’s production.
Baldoni filed his own lawsuit against Lively in January 2025. The case, however, he was fired six months later
