A 19-year-old Syrian suspected of a spanish tourist at the Holocaust Memorial planned for many weeks to kill the Jews, Berlin Police believed.
The attack occurred Friday night, with the murderer who approached the 30-year-old victim before beating him and fled to the scene.
One person was arrested nearby after police noticed blood stains in his hands and clothes.
The suspect brought a rug to pray, a copy of the Quran, and the suspected weapon of his backpack, suggesting “a religious motivation”, said to the police.
After being taken to the hospital with serious wounds around his neck, the victim was subjected to an operation and placed in a conventional commas, but his life was no longer dangerous.
Police say they are investigating possible connections to current mid-mid-east conflict – but says no evidence of links to any groups or individuals.
They also checked if the suspect suffered a mental illness. He did not have a first criminal record and did not recognize the police, they added.

The German Minister Minister Nancy Faeser describes the attack as a “mutual and fierce crime” which should be punished with the full strength of the law “.
“We will use everything to drive the violent offender in Syria,” he said.
Several stabbing and car-ramming attacks have taken place in Germany in recent months, in the cities of Mannheim, Solingen, Magdeburg, Aschaffenburg and Munich.
