Affleck, 53, and Damon, 55, stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, January 13, to promote his new film The Ripwhere Affleck revealed he brought his kids to the set of the upcoming fantasy epic.
The Argo actions of director and actor three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: violet20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13.
“I’m a big fan of Chris,” Affleck he said. “It’s one of those things where my kids never want to come on set when I’m working. ‘Hey guys, we’re doing something on set,’ and they’re like, ‘No, I’ve got school.'”

He continued: “But they were very excited to come and visit this set. My middle son is very interested in reading the Iliad and the odysseyand we went, and it was really great.”
Affleck said he was “grateful” that fellow Oscar winner Nolan, 55, allowed him to visit the film’s set.
“My kids really enjoyed it,” she shared. “It was kind of cool. It was really, really nice. I was deeply grateful.”
Damon then revealed that Affleck and his children had a very VIP experience because no other guests were allowed on set. (The Odyssey filmed in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Iceland and Scotland between February and August 2025.)
“You were the only guest in six months of filming,” Damon told his longtime friend.
“It’s just the workload, it was such an ambitious project that the amount of work that needed to be done, there was no time for anything else,” Damon explained. “I’ve never, ever made a movie that just requires every single person to work, to give their best effort.”
Damon added, “When I came back I said to (Affleck), every location in this movie would have been the hardest location in any other movie I’ve ever done, and any day of work would have been harder than any other day in any other movie I’ve ever done.”
Despite the intense shooting schedule, Damon said he is incredibly proud of the film, which is an adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem.

“It was absolutely the pinnacle of my entire career. I loved every minute of it,” he said.
Damon plays the Greek king Odysseus in the film, which he also stars in Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o i Charlize Theron. The Odyssey will be released on July 16.
Also on Tuesday Affleck exclusively said Us Weekly on reuniting with Damon in his new film, The Rip.
“I keep learning things about Matt that I already knew and I forget,” Affleck joked. we at the premiere of the movie New Yok City. “Honestly, I’m constantly reminded of what a great father he is and what a fabulous actor he is.”
“You’re very lucky if you can do it for a living,” Affleck added of how their careers have intertwined over so many decades. “And you’re exceptionally lucky if you can do it with people you love and care about.”
The Rip premieres on Netflix on Friday, January 16.
