Below Deck’s Victoria reveals where she stands with Joe after the romance


The romance between Victoria San Juan i Joe Bradley it’s getting hot Under cover Mediterranean — But where are they now?

“Joe and I will always be cordial and we will always be professional,” Victoria said exclusively Us Weekly on Monday, December 1. “But I don’t really consider him part of my friend group.”

Victoria hinted at what brought her down out of touch with Joe.

“The men I have in my friend group, I admire them because they are more honest, they have self-control, they take responsibility and they have respect, those kinds of qualities,” she noted. “So I wish him all the best. I think he’s a lovely human, but I think he has a lot to learn from his mistakes, if he’s willing to learn from them.”

The duo formed a connection when Joe joined halfway through season 10, when Victoria was still mourning the death of her ex-boyfriend Bon.

“It was an interesting time, when Joe and I met. It was 11 months after Bon died and the year (anniversary of his death) was coming up,” he recalled. “So for me, I just wanted someone to be there for me.”

Victoria continued: “I just wanted that physical intimacy for a moment and just let go. He’s a charmer and he’s sweet, but he’s obviously a bit of a player. That’s not really what I needed at the time.”

Season 10 of Under cover Med, which was released in Septembergave Victoria a chance to focus on herself after Bon drowned almost a year earlier: on his birthday. Victoria was candid on the show about the ups and downs that come with grieving a loved one.

“When Bon died, it felt very public because he was loved by so many. But this was my story and I wanted to have it (on the show). It was such a big part of me,” she explained. “How I started working on ships and even how I got to Below Deck was a big part of my story in that way. So I wanted people to know that because it’s a very lonely experience to lose, like, a partner at a young age.”

Victoria was grateful for the opportunity to have a platform for the conversation, adding: “I just wanted to (be there) if someone was going through this or felt alone. I didn’t want them to feel alone, like I did. So if one story could help just one person, even just one person, it was worth it to me.”

As he pondered on his own journeyVictoria explained how she is now.

“He’s taught me so much. I’ve suffered so much because I’ve loved so much. When you have time to heal and move on, and I still have my safe days where I think about him a lot. But when you get to that place in your grieving journey, you learn to be grateful that they’re there and that they’re not there,” she explained. “Many people are afraid to admit this because they feel guilty about admitting if life has gotten better or is still just as amazing after that person is gone.”

He added: “That’s the hard part for people to accept that life can still be so beautiful or so wonderful, even if that person is no longer there. That’s one thing that Bon taught me is to run life to the fullest, embrace it and enjoy it a lot. So I thought the best way to honor him is to move on.”
