Catalan media said Bonmati will be sidelined for “at least two months” as she recovers from Sunday’s injury, which could escalate if she requires surgery.
The Spanish Football Federation said Bonmati finished the morning’s training session “in pain after a bad landing” during the crash before being diagnosed with a “fracture in her left fibula”.
“The player will return to Barcelona and her club to begin her recovery period,” it said.
Bonmati started for Spain on Friday in the 0-0 draw against Germany in the first leg of the Nations League final.
She will miss the upcoming Champions League matches against Benfica and Paris FC in December, as well as the Spanish Super Cup and various Liga F matches in January.
