A woman shot, set on fire by 3 people while trying to buy a puppy


A woman in South Carolina was ambushed by three people who fatally shot her and set her body on fire when she thought she was attending a meeting to buy a puppy.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office announced Dana Marie Kinlaw was lured to a country road in Effingham, South Carolina, on Thursday, January 22, with the intention of buying a puppy. However, she was allegedly killed by her Iryanna Jarisaa Fleming, Daquinn Thomas i Nikko Christopher Carraway.

Officials believe Kinlaw, 40, was killed as part of a revenge killing for a recent killing that took place in nearby Darlington County, it has been reported. WBMF.

Kinlaw was driving with Fleming, 19, when they stopped on Atlantic Road before the murder.

“Allegedly, they went there together,” said the Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye he explained to the dam. “Miss Fleming, she was 19, was a friend of Miss Kinlaw, and they allegedly went together to buy a puppy.”

Officials said they believe Fleming and Thomas, 31, set up a fake sale for a dog Kinlaw was interested in buying. They allegedly planned to persuade her to travel to the area so they could attack her.

Upon his arrival, Kinlaw was fatally shot. The alleged killers then poured a liquid over her body and set her car on fire, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officers received a report of a car on fire, and discovered a body inside the vehicle when they arrived at the scene.

Kinlaw’s body was identified by the Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutckenaccording to statement shared by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. He ordered her body sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy. The results have not yet been released at the time of publication.

Within hours of discovering Kinlaw’s body, Fleming and Thomas were arrested and charged with murder, first-degree arson and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to online records reviewed by Us Weekly.

Carraway was later arrested on Wednesday, January 28 and charged with the same three crimes as Fleming and Thomas. Us Weekly confirmed through online registrations.

Officials said they believe the killing was related to another killing that took place 35 miles away in Darlington County, involving Kinlaw’s son. However, Joye did not share more details about Kinlaw’s son’s death or why police believe the crimes are related.

“We believe there was a homicide in Darlington County, that we made the arrest in Lake City that connects them to that arrest with Darlington County officials,” Joye told the outlet. “We feel that his son was involved in this in some way, shape or form, and we feel that this is in retaliation for this murder.”

All three suspects are currently behind bars at the Florence County Detention Center and no bond has been set for them. It is currently unclear whether they have entered pleas or whether they have retained legal representation.
