‘We don’t want you here.’
Speaking at a news conference earlier today about the fatal shooting, Frey didn’t mince words in rebutting claims that ICE acted in self-defense.
“Having seen the video myself, I want to say straight to everybody, that’s bulls–t,” the mayor said.
Frey said there were dozens, if not hundreds, of ICE and federal officers at the time.
“Their presence was just creating more chaos, the presence of them was just making a difficult situation more difficult – and one, yes, they created themselves,” he said.
“It’s the least I can say to make this situation better. But I have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE—get the f—k out of Minneapolis. We don’t want you here.”
