A man breaks into his Texas apartment to kidnap his ex and shoots her new boyfriend


A Texas man is facing multiple criminal charges after he was accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at an Arlington apartment complex where she shot her new boyfriend.

Aaron Webb was arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday, December 30. Police confirmed in a news release that he is currently being held in the Arlington City Jail without bond, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Officers were called to the residence on Forest Hills Drive in north Arlington around 11:10 p.m. after Webb, 25, allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

Police said that after being shot, the 29-year-old victim, along with another woman and two children, managed to escape the residence by climbing through a rear window. However, Webb took his ex-girlfriend with him, forcing her into his own car and driving off with her.

After witnesses described the type of car he fled in, authorities were able to track down Webb and his ex-girlfriend through dash cams. After finding them in Fort Worth, Webb was arrested a short time later without incident and the gun was recovered. Police added that the ex-girlfriend suffered facial injuries after Webb allegedly hit her while they were in the vehicle. However, he managed to escape the situation largely unscathed.

The woman told investigators she had moved to Arlington from out of state in an attempt to get away from Webb, according to the outlet. He said he followed her to Arlington and continued to call and text her despite her lack of interest in communicating with him.

It is currently unclear how long the former couple dated or how long they were separated. It is also not known when the ex-girlfriend moved to Texas. However, police confirmed that the suspect is originally from Mississippi. Authorities also revealed he was recently staying at an apartment complex in Fort Worth before his arrest.

Webb was transported to the Arlington City Jail following his arrest. He has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, one count of stalking, one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle, one count of aggravated kidnapping, three counts of deadly conduct, one count of aggravated assault with family violence and one count of assault with family violence and one count of robbery with intent to assault police.

Police added that the injured man Webb shot was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The names of the victims have not been released. It is currently unclear how the other woman and two children know Webb’s ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

While Webb was taken into custody, it is not yet known if he has entered a plea to the charges he faces or if he has retained legal representation in light of the allegations.

The Arlington Police Department did not immediately respond Us Weeklythe request for comments.
