A long-lost painting by Baroque master Peter Paul Rubens, hidden for more than 400 years and recently discovered in a Paris town hall, has sold for 2.3 million euros ($2.7 million) at an auction in Versailles. Depicting the Crucifixion of Christ, it was long thought to be a work from Rubens’ workshop and was previously valued at no more than €10,000.
