Employees at a Virginia liquor store got a shock Saturday when they arrived at work to find the store ransacked by an intoxicated raccoon.
The “Masked Bandit” was found passed in the bathroom between the toilet and the self-help bin on some spiritual shelves.
Animal Control Samantha Martin brought the “suspect” in for questioning by Hanover County Animal Protection and Prostitution but did not have a chance to recover.
After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (except for a hangover), the animal was safely released back into the wild.
The Ashland ABC Store was closed for Thanksgiving when it suffered a “Black Fright break-in”.
When staff arrived on Saturday they found smashed bottles and polling on the floor, including the obvious tipple of choice, scotch.
Opicer Martin explained that the animal fell through one of the ceiling tiles before going “in a full burst of flow, drinking everything”.
It’s just a blurry CCTV image of the boozy break-in, so it’s not known how much we suffered in the bathroom.
In a social media post, the store thanked the Hanover animal protection and shelter for its professionalism and provided its guest with a “hard ride home”.
Officer Martin said it was “just another day in the life of an animal control officer”.
