Open speech groups mentioned that the Homeland Security Department (DHS) alleged that Khalil was an “an alignment of the appointed terrorist organization” Hamas.
But the analysts have noticed that the department’s allegations are less than more tangible claims. For example, the law of the United States, forbidden to give “physical support” to terrorist organizations to anyone in the country’s work area.
The arguments provided for Khalil’s arrest, expert argue that it was more widespread against any voice that criticized Israel and American foreign policy.
“This is so big that you can drive through it,” Wil Cryley, the legal director of the Foundation for Personal Rights and Expression (Fire), told Al Jazira.
“I think the most dangerous about the moment is that if the lecture from the administration is out today, people from all over the country are going to think twice before criticizing the government, whether it is an American government or an Israeli government and this is a real problem,” he added.
It has also been shown in an attempt to add criticism to Israel in support of terrorism that project 225 has been reflected. A controversial series of strategic proposals for Trump’s second term compiled by the Heritage Foundation by the Right-Wing Think Tank.
The document removed the alarm for its views on issues such as the extensive explanation of the executive power, as well as the Palestinian supporters protest movement.
A project 225 proposes states that Palestinian supporters protest are part of the “extremely organized, Global Hamas Support Network (HSN) and therefore effectively terrorist support network.
Greer told the media outlets that when she spoke to ice agents over the phone, they found that they were misinterpreting about the condition of coming abroad to live forever and told them that they were going to withdraw his student visa.
Until December, Khalil, a graduate student in Colombia, was previously in the United States on a student visa, but he has obtained a green card, which has made it a legal permanent resident of the country.
Greer said that when she told the ICE agents a permanent resident, he said that his green card would be canceled instead.

The policy of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Nity Nathan-Pino, told Al Jaizira that in some cases such as immigration application or detection of fraudulent information in some criminal activities, the status of a green card may be canceled.
She said, “I didn’t see any information about a criminal guilty or arrested.”
“It seems that the ice agents unilaterally decide that whatever immigration status has it, it doesn’t matter.”
Greer said that she and Khalil’s wife were told that he was kept in the New Jersey immigration facility, but when he arrived, he was not there. Khalil has been taken into custody in Louisiana.
“This is a trick that loves to use ice, transferring one to a facility that is far from legal support, community and loved ones,” said Nathan-Pino. “This increases the mental stress of the arrest.”
Greer has challenged Khalil’s possession and the federal court’s case is set to hearing on March 12.
