Dacora has not built its own power train and is building models based on existing electric vehicle power supplies. “It’s an old school model that could have been done in the 20s and 30s,” D’Ambrosio-Correll explained. She said that it helped that it wasn’t a “monetary pit” of efforts. The company will also not hold inventory and will build a vehicle commissioned by its client at a factory/studio in Hudson, New York. The CEO expects Dacora to make profits in its second year of production and expand it to global markets, especially the Middle East and Europe.

While the ultra-luxury car market seems to be dominated by men, D’Ambrosio-Correll is also eager to build for female customers. At 4-foot-9, she knew very well that cars were not a challenge when designing for women. “Not only cars designed by companies led by men, but their sales seem to be only women who care about the safety of their families, which is certainly what we do, but that’s not the only thing we care about,” she said.

D’Ambrosio-Correll specializes in finding female investors to support her vision.
