As the bill passes through Congress, Musk threatens to form the “American Party” If “this crazy spending bill passes.”

“When it comes to bankruptcy with waste and grafting, we live in a party system, not a democracy,” Musk said on Saturday at the social media company he owns. “Today, the American Party was formed to keep you free.”

When journalists prepared to return to Washington from New Jersey, Trump called Musk’s claims “absurd” and continued to promote “a huge success on the Republican side.”

“The Democrats got lost, but it’s always a two-party system,” Trump added. “And I think the third party just added chaos at the beginning. It’s really developed for both parties.” Trump said the third party never worked.

New parties are not uncommon, but they often have difficulty getting any significant support from the Republican and Democrats. “The Republicans have carried out a clear sweep of the executive, legislative and judicial departments, and still intend to significantly increase the size of the government and expand the record $5 trillion in the expansion of Treasury bonds,” Musk said on X on Sunday.
