One man died after he was attacked by a bear in one of the most beautiful regions of Romania.
The victim, riding a motorcycle, stopped a famous tourist area in Transfagarasan on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The bear pulls him on a steep cliff with a rainfall of about 80 meters (262ft), they added.
“Unfortunately, he was dead when we arrived,” Ion Sanduloiu, head of Farges County Mountain rescue service, told BBC.
“The odds are very bad. Although he wears a helmet and full protective tool, it is not enough.”
Sanduloiu said the victim parked his bike next to a sign that warns not to feed the bears.
“My advice is simple: don’t give up, don’t feed, and keep your distance,” he added.
The animal has not become euthanised, officials say. An investigation continues with the incident.
Romania is the habitat of the largest populated brown bear in the European Union.
Meetings of people who have increased increases in recent years, with many fatal incidents that prompted calls for ways to be clearer.

Conservationists say death showed deeper structural wildlife management structures in Romania.
Gabriel Paun, built the environmental agent of the NGO, which campaign for the protection of wildlife and against illegal logging, that the issue is the wrong lognement, not more.
“Recurrent tragedies in Transfagarasan Road are the result of many failures: Tourists have stopped drinking wild animals, local governments – much better in the development of animals between wildlife and humans,” he said.
Paun said the bear population was threatened by the “climate change, disruption of man’s behavior and persecution”, which increased that Romania became a “key destination” for international trophies.
Sanduloiu believes that the greater than the most prevalent to avoid further loss of life.
“The solution is simple, in my opinion: a higher penalty and even prison sentences for those who stop feeding the bears,” he said.
