The German Court raises the prohibition of distance compact magazine

A Leipzig court earned a prohibition imposed by the German government of influential magazine compact.

The judgment can be seen by some of a bump in Germany’s fight against the right wing extremism, even for others it can proof of high-language standards.

In July 2024 the German ministry was forbidden in the magazine, arguing that it was harmful to the German constitution with rhetoric attacks the minorities.

“It was a central scene in the right winged extremist,” said German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser at the time. “This magazine stimulates the unspeakable hatred against the Jews, against the people who have a background of migration, and against our democracy in Parliament.”

The magazine is associated with a distant alternative for the German Party (AFD) and previously detained German intelligence such as extremist right wings.

In Judgment Tuesday was accepted that the magazine had published the anti-constitution, but decided that it was not justified.

Many compact statements appear to be “enlarged but allowed criticism,” the managed Judge Ingo Kraft speaks the court. “The constitutional freedom is guaranteed to express the freedom of the press, even by the enemies of the Constitution.”

After the announcement, compact’s editor-in-chief Jürgen Elsäser, describing his magazine as “attacking democracy gun” if his magazine was not forbidden, then did not the AFD, he did not.

There is a ferocious debate in Germany about the AFD ban attempt, which also becomes classic like extremist correct wing by German intelligence. Even many AFD critics say a ban can be opponent by playing the victim’s account.

During the last year, German officials were prohibited, or attempted banning, many counter-constitutional organizations, some were involved in remote extremist groups. AFD and Far-right activists say they are silent in a oppressive situation.

Some Donald Trump supporters have also accused Germany to control free speech. In the Munich Security Conference in February US Vice President JD Vance was shocked by European officials with a blank attack in Germanythat accuses political politicians closed the political AFD and an anti-democratic clampdown in free speech.

Indeed, the AFD politicians are a staple of German TV alman and have equal rights to debate in German parliament.

Due to the 20th century experience of the oppressive Nazi and Communist totalitarian totalitarian, there are high stripes to prevent publications and restrictions and organizations.

The cases were often taken to court and, as in this rule, defeated by the judges. The decision to allow remote compact magazine to publish, not attracted to the government.
