Music show: Laura Prince installs its African roots at ‘Adjoko’




In this edition of our ARTS24 music show, Jennifer Ben Brahim Chats with Franco-Togoles singer Laura Prince. She just issued another album “Adjocco”, a journey between memory, identity and authenticity. “ADOKO” is Lauri’s Togolese Name and symbolizes her search to reconnect with their African roots. It produced the minutes between France, that and Ouid in Benin, a port city known for its dark role in slave trade. She also refers her Western African connections to Slavery through his name Laura Prince. It is a tribute to the author Mari Prince, the first black woman who published a book about his experiences as a slave.
